Port Royal Real Estate Hilton Head Island, SC

Port Royal Real Estate, Hilton Head

Introduction to the Area

It’s going to be quite a challenge to find a more welcoming community in Hilton Head been Port Royal.

One of the most historic communities in the entire island, and the second plantation neighborhood to be developed on the island after Sea Pines, Port Royal affords new community members the opportunity to take advantage of special amenities and community features that simply aren’t going to be found anywhere else.

We’re talking about a community driven by the rich history of the island, and neighborhoods that simply ooze Southern charm!

Types of Property Available

A residential only community, the Port Royal plantation community gives new neighbors the opportunity to purchase pre-built homes or have one custom designed for their needs. There are a number of builders that work in the plantation to establish new homes, and many of them have models set up and ready to be viewed by new property owners.

The community is generally pretty well established (as the second plantation developed on Hilton Head), but there are still great pieces of property to be purchased at very attractive prices!

The Port Royal Community

Golf is a big part of all Hilton Head communities, but it’s a major focus of daily life here in Port Royal.

With three beautifully designed 18 hole courses, and membership available to residents at each, it’s going to be easy to sneak away for a quick round of practice or to take visitors out to experience some championship level golf – no matter what day of the week it is!

You’ll also find that Port Royal offers other exciting amenities for those that lead active lifestyles. There are two champion level croquet courts and a 16 court racquet club – again, all available to residents of the plantation.

Local History

Named after William Hilton (the first to land on and explore the island), this area is rich in history.

In 1861, the entirety of Hilton Head was (briefly) renamed to Port Royal. The Civil War still speaks directly to visitors here, and there are fortifications and famous battle sites that can be visited with no extra effort at all.

Here’s What Makes Port Royal So Special

The only plantation on the entire island that is completely bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, property owners here are going to have a unique opportunity to own premium real estate in one of America’s greatest destinations.
